After rigorous staff training, auditing and a certification process, Servicios Aeroportuarios Andinos S.A. (SAASA) achieved the certification of excellence for handling pharmaceutical products, CEIV Pharma, granted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). This makes SAASA the first Peruvian operator to obtain this certification, which ensures the traceability, handling, and storage of pharmaceutical products.
“The import of pharmaceutical products, especially COVID-19 vaccines, requires exceptional handling. Since SAASA is an integral part of the supply chain through the services it offers, we have now become the first partner for airport services in Peru to receive this important and essential certificate”, said Enrique Vargas, SAASA General Manager. “In order to achieve this seal of excellence, we have made all efforts to update and improve our procedures at SAASA by developing key and specific processes to serve the pharmaceutical supply chain, training our teams and proactively communicating our progress to customers and suppliers, with the permanent advice of the IATA team”, commented the representative of SAASA.
In this way, SAASA confirms its commitment to being a unique and different proposal in order to meet the logistics needs of the aviation industry, ensuring effective, fast and 100 % safe operations.
